3lilpiggies

Hi

My name is sylvia I am new here I have three guniea pigs. I have no idea what color they are they are brown and white with red eyes. I have a mother and 2 daughters. My question is what is the best guniea pig food to feed? Where do i order it online? I have ferrets to so I have to order their food online and want to do the same for the piggies.

Thanks

Take a look at the threads at the top of the Food section - reviews on most available piggy foods.

I always use pellets nowadays to preclude selective feeding and to be sure the piggies are getting the total nourishment and nutrients needed.

Good luck!

Excel here although using Tesco purple bag museli at the mo and they are not select feeding. Pellets are better to use. :)

Not to throw a spanner but I was told by a retired vet that providing you don't overfeed and they eat it all there is nothing wrong with feeding museli :-\

I would feed pellets if I could get it by the sack full.

Agreed! Actually mine have gone off pellets I think they were bored with them which is why we are on the museli again and they eat it all...until they get bored again! ;D

thanks everyone. Where do I order this stuff at? My two have a wide variety of foods. They get pellets free choice and fresh clover every day. My dad has a huge clover patch and they just love it. Plus I give them carrots every other day and sometimes Kale and leaf lettuce. When I pick the clover they are like whoo hooo mommy got the good stuff. I got them so spoiled on the clover that they dont eat pellets that much. I feed them timothy hay every day to.

There's loadsa websites that you can buy guinea pig supplies from such as: Pampered piggies (although website is currently closed at the moment), Zooplus, Guinea Pig Supply Store, Pet Planet and Pets at Home.

I currently give mine Burgess Excel pellets - they normally get P@H ones but these were on offer at Easter time at P@H.
