i was told to feed my guinea pig everyday with pelets what fresh fruit and veg can they eat and how often?
ive bought kiwi, brocolli, banana, carrot, cucumber and parsley not fed them with any yet.

use fruit as treats.


1 cup of mixed fruit/veggies per pig per day.
In addition to unlimited hay and unlimited pellets.


- Parsley
- Coriander
- Celery with leaves
- Water Cress
- Garden Cress
- Spinach (feed in moderation, linked to formation of kidney & bladder stones)
- Carrot tops / leaves
- Peas in pods
- Dandelion greens-a laxative.
- Grass
- Kale (curly or plain)
- Broccoli stems
- Cauliflower stalks
- Brussels Sprouts
- Cabbage
- Bell / Sweet Peppers - red, green, yellow (not hot or chilli)
- Tomato (sores around mouth can develop; leaves poisonous)
- Orange (caution - sores around lips can develop)
- Tangerine / Mandarin (caution - sores around lips can develop)
- Grapefruit (caution - sores around lips can develop)
- Cantaloupe Melon
- Honeydew Melon
- Currants - yellow, red or black (leaves also edible)
- Gooseberries
- Strawberries
- Kiwi Fruit
- Mango
- Guava
- Papaya
- Romaine Lettuce
- Rocket
- Artichoke
- Asparagus
- Basil
- Dill
- Mint
- Thyme
- Celery stalks (cut into small pieces)
- Corn on the cob (strings, leaves & stalks are edible too)
- Bean Sprouts

- Carrots (feed in moderation, vit A in carrots said to cause liver problems)

- Radishes (if mild)

- Cucumber (fresh only, not pickled)

- Apple (don't over do these, can cause mouth sores)

- Pear -can cause bloat.

- Watermelon (can cause diarrhea - high water content)
- Banana (feed in great moderation - can cause constipation)

- Blackberry leaves (pick young & tender leaves and shoots)

i have just bought 2 there both males, first time i have owned guinea pigs. i called 1 milo and the other ones dino, so i basically just feed them hay and pellets plus a bowl of mixed fruit and veg a day. there gonna love me. lol ill read that chart now and take down some notes
 
Just remember if it's your first time with piggies that hay is something that should never run out... they should have an unlimited amount.
 
yeah i have bought plenty isit a good idea to change it everyday or top it up?
