My guinea pig has been ill lately and I want her to gain weight. At the vets, she weighed 600g and she is on anti inflammatory medicine to help with a poorly leg.I would like her to way between 700g-800g. I am feeding her beetroot, apple, kale ,romaine lettuce, carrot, celery and cucumber every day. She also has 3-4 pea flakes as they are quite fattening. She always has unlimited hay and water. Lately, she has been avoiding her burgess exel pellets with mint but she will eat it if hand fed. Does anyone know any foods to help her gain weight?

I know what you mean about wanting her to gain weight but now she's over her illness she should gradually gain weight with normal feeding. Gradual, stable weight gain is the way forward.

Glad your little one is on the road to recovery.
