I've had my guinea pig for a month now. But he still refuses to eat new foods! He is content to chew my clothes and furniture, but he won't even taste a nice, green piece of lettuce. Why?

Thx in advance for the tips. O0

What vegetables have you tried him with? If you've only tried a few he might not like them..also, piggies that have never had veggies before take a while to start eating them. Have a look in the piggy shopping list and buy him some interesting new foods O0

Mine love peppers, cabbage, cauliflower, brocolli, carrot, parsley, spinach, kale...

He's tried lettuce, broccoli, carrots, celery, strawberries, and apples but he won't eat any of them. ::)

thx for the help O0

i have had mine for about a month now too and they have liked everything I have tried them with so far except fruits (Apple and Strawberrie), they wont touch them them.

Kale, Broccoli, Carrot, Celery, Tomato, Cucumber, Lettuce and Grass.

Sometimes they take a bit longer to adjust to new surroundings. I always chop up fruit and veg really small when I get a new piggy and give them a bit of a salad. So long as he's eating dry food and hay and drinking then he should be OK. :) Don't forget that in the wild they only really have rough grasses.
