Finlay had funny toenails that curl. Friday, he wouldn't let me cut the black curly one and had a lil scab on the toe. Tonight, he still won't let me touch it and he has the foot off the floor when standing still.

what do you think?

Could he have torn it a bit and an infection got in? Does it feel warmer than the rest of his foot?

I know that bumblefoot occurs mostly on the front feet, but I am not sure whether it occurs by the nails.

not really warmer. that's the first thing I checked. It is slightly warm to the touch but not noticeably so.

Curly nails are so tricky to trim, especially when the pig won't let you! :))

Jasmine has a nail, same toe, that curls tightly in on itself. Human nail clippers (instead of the ones designed for small dogs that I usually use) are the only way I can trim that nail.

In the final photo I think I can see what you are describing in terms of a scab, around the base of the nail? Does the toe seem swollen?

no, the toe isn't particularly swollen.

The nail fell off this week but Finlay has no pain in the foot. In fact he was happily jumping and running around on Saturday when I noticed!
