Jezzy floof of the curly nails and crusty feet has developed some long foot spurs on her front paws, she's off to see the vet nurse this afternoon for a nail trim and health check, should we ask the nurse to trim the spurs too? The spurs are a fairly recent thing but Jezzy has always had awful feet because of her background, we clean and moisturise them for her at least once a week... are the spurs just like her poor old curly toenails, something that needs trimming and checking on regularly?

I only ever trim spurs if they are likely to get caught and ripped. One of my old piggies used to have one that grew out the side of the foot so I used to trim that in case she caught it running around the cage but otherwise I just leave them be

Thank you! It almost looks like she's grown little wings at the side of her front paw pads, but they arent bothering her, so I'll leave them alone for now.

You can ask your vet to clip them if you wish to; but you need to do so well away from any live skin and be aware that they can grow back.
If possible and if your piggy is not in any danger of catching and ripping into live skin, then leave well alone!

My vet has trimmed foot spurs for pigs that were under anesthesia anyhow for other reasons, but otherwise, honestly, I have never cut them. They didn't bother the pigs and as long as they weren't catching on things, I didn't bother stressing them out by trying to clip them.

Well I was just giving Jezzy her foot clean and moisturise before putting her back in the clean cage, and it looks like the lovely vet nurse has trimmed down the spurs along with the toenails without either Jezzy or me even noticing! I think we might ask for this vet nurse again next time, she's done a brilliant job on Jezzy's awful feet, and she was so kind and reassuring with the piggies :)
