For Masha. The Seagull spotting beauty Queen. You loved fashion, the most stylish of piggies.
Jan 17th 2020 - September 24th 2021
Last night I lost my best friend and ray of sunshine very suddenly and far before your time. Masha you were and will always be the most beautiful, glamourous, kind little pig. A special little lady. I miss you so much my darling girl.
You were 18 months old and previously healthy. We don’t know and will never know what exactly happened, but you had been brave and been in the vets for investigations for two days including an x-ray to check you for bladder stones which came back fine. You was on meds for a suspected UTI and eye infection which I don’t think you enjoyed. You were loyal and brave and strong and fought your way home to us and Irie yesterday. You then died suddenly in my arms. I am so grateful to have been with you for your last moments my little princess, and to have been your Pig Mum.
Here’s a little message from your Pig Dad: “Remember that Masha had a good life full of dandelions, humping, and seagull patrol.
We have some great memories of her and she helped us get through Covid in a one bed council flat in Hackney - something we both needed.
She was a beautiful pig and everyone said so. She will be missed, but we will celebrate her braveness whenever we see or hear a seagull, and remember her beauty whenever someone mentions fashion.”
I can’t make sense of anything right now. All I can do is I’ll do my best to look after your naughty big sister for you and to make sure I remember the happy times in the dark days to come. I know I’m not alone but I’ve lost a lot this year, as have many people. And this has floored me. Masha you were my happiness reservoir, a reason to get up and push on with life. We needed each other and we had a deep quiet, loving, bond. It will never be broken. I cannot believe you’re gone. I am going to miss you so much and I hope we see each other again one day.
