Hi everyone
Hope your all well
I brought some care fresh today. I brought a white one and a pink one. Both of them claimed to be 10 litres. The packets were quite small but 10 litres of woodshavings easily fills my 2x3 cage with 1x3 loft. Anyway I unpacked one packet and it filled about 1x3 it didn't seem to expand when I got it out the packet so I used both packets. Originally they were £6.50 a packet but I got 2 packets for £9. I was unable to do the loft in them. Although I must add the normal carefresh which is not coloured was 2 for £7.50.

Anyway I just wanted to ask how long will carefresh last? Seeing as it cost £9 to fill my cage. Also why has it not expanded and why is it so expensive?

Just so you know I usually use woodhsavings or bed pads but thought I would give piggys a change. To be honest this is their favourite bedding they haven't stopped popcorning all day. They love it not sure why.

Anyway some pics attached

I've only used it once because I had run out of Fitch bedding. I think carefesh is horrible stuff and its a rediculous price. Fitch is much better and cheeper

I found it too dusty when I tried it for the gerbils one time. It didn't last long before it started to smell either :(

I've never tried care fresh but I love Fitch. I bought one bale for £16 inc postage to try (was previously using woodshavings) and have used it in a 5ft hutch and a 120 ferplast cage for 3 weeks and reckon it will last me another 4 weeks at least, I do a full clean once a week.
I will never go back to woodshavings again. If you buy more than one bale of Fitch it works out even cheaper but you'd need storage.
I'd be happy to share an order of multiple bales with someone who lived within 30 minutes or so in the car.
I use fleece in my c&c set up and my hospital cage.

I tried it out too... Very pricy for what it is and it struggled with the amount of pee 5 piggies produced.

Thank you so much to those who recommended fitch. I looked it up just now and it looks fantastic.

@ Piggysmitten what county are you in as I'm in bedfordshire x

I would love to buy the bulk buy as it only works out at £12 a bale.

Hi sorry I didn't answer earlier - the tag you did didn't work so I didn't get the notification. I'm in Yorkshire unfortunately (bit more than a 30 minute drive!) but I will start a thread to see if we can get some buying groups going and tag you in it.

Aww no worries lol.

Today I noticed my piggys are all eating the carefresh, don't think I will use this bedding again

Have you tried mega megazorb? You get a massive sack full for the price of those two small care fresh that you bought.

It's £20 for carefresh confetti for a large bale. I think it is overpriced that's why I won't buy it anymore. It's okay for hamster cages but guinea pig hutches etc too much. Going to try fitch.
