For those with more than 1 piggy ...

Nope!

I don't actually have a favourite piggy I just love them as a huge heard. But with my rabbits it is no secret that Archie is my main man. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have my three other rabbits, my bridge bunny Blanche and probably wouldn't of added more guinea pigs to my family. He reignited my love for furries.
 
I always have a favourite... but it changes! hehe. monthly ususally. :) However they share a cage so i cant spoil one more than the other.
 
I think as long as they are all treated the same, not at all. I love both of my piggies, but have only had Womble for 2 weeks and have had Little Pig for 3 years. They both get the same amount of love and attention from me and I worry about them equally, but Little Pig is just so special to me as we have been through so much together.
 
I don't think it is wrong to have an extra soft spot for one! Having said that, when I had all my trio, they had favourites out of me and OH! Rogue and Storm were mummy's girls, and Misty is a daddy's girl! Even though we only have Misty now she still prefers her daddy, despite the fact that I feed and clean her out etc! x
 
Its human nature to have a favourite, I had a favourite til she died 2 years ago then another piggie who is actually very similar that I rescued is now my favourite. As long as other piggies aren't negleted its fine
 
a favourite? or just a soft spot for one? i have a soft spot for pepper, our eldest at four and a half, he is so laid back, you can stroke him while he is eating, and he does nt move a muscle, and you never have to chase him round the run to get him in, he just walks up to you! but all our piggies are treated the same, and given the same amount of cuddles, we would nt be without any of them!
 
I think it's obvious why my favourite is!

I don't think it's a favourite as such, but theres always one "special" one!
 
I definitely have a favorite. Since Sweets was my first piggy he and I have a special bond and Fez always bites me and is not nearly as bonded with me as Sweets. Sweets is like a little puppy who just licks your face when you get him out of the cage x)
 
Out of all the pig's I used to have my first one Jacob was my favourite, I had such a bond with him. Now I'm kinda back to square one and I've started over again with two pig's I don't have a favourite between them, they're both similarly fat and squidgy :))

As long as you don't find the non favourite ones trying to prise the fridge open for food I don't think its wrong :))
 
I love all my piggies but sometimes you just seem to have that extra special connection with one of them - even though you love them all and treat them the same - its something you cant quite put your finger on - something a bit spiritual I feel sometimesrolleyes
 
I don't feel so guilty now. Don't get me wrong I love all 3 of my boys equally, and none of them go without anything (even to the extreme that I make sure they get the same amount of food and the same amount of lap/cuddle time). Its just that J is my special big boy, and I've definitely got an extra soft spot for him. He was one of my original gang but was always the odd one out. He had 3 vet trips in his first few months with hay stuck in his eye (twice) and ear canal (once), he got bullied to the point I had to separate him from the others (who later died), his cataracts are slowly getting worse, and it took him over a year to learn to trust me to the point I feel that I've now got a different kind of bond with him.

I love Smudge and Spike to bits and wouldn't change them for the world, but there's just something about J - he's different to any other guinea pig I've had before.
 
I adore all 6 of mine. And I have 2 favs. Gaga because she is just an adorable little thing, who just doesnt care. And Plop for obvious reasons. For those who have seen my vid you know why. Hes sooo much bigger now and has long hair on his bum, but you know, he still sits in my hand and goes in a trance when i stroke his head. He lays right back and has a look of oooooo shes gonna rub my tummmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyxx>>>
 
Its not bad at all. I admit i do have a certain soft spot for one piggie of all of them. And when i give Rocket cuddles i always whisper to her 'we dont have favorites do we Rocket'

oooh it would be a tie for me between bilbo and Terry!

Bilbo does get more attention than any of my 8 purely because of his daily meds and his foot soaks so i dont feel to guilty!
 
Definitely not wrong at all! I have 20 and I do tend to go through "favourites" and alternate but at the same time they are all uniquely special to me for completely different reasons! :)
 
Callis is my favourite, only because he's special and reminds me of my first pig who was also a bit special. Zambi is coming up second, then I think Zuki and Kenya are joint lol. Zuki is very shy and timid so it's hard to warm to him altho I love how he's the only pig tha will stand on hind legs for food automatically. The others you have to coach. x
 
Lol, I do love both my boys the same and they both get the same snuggles and care but When I am done holding Sweets, I go to put him back in the cage so that he can play with his pet guinea pig A.K.A Fez, those two boys love each other! both got a nail trimming today and Fez does so much better and goes through the whole process without a peep and Sweets screams bloody murder!
 
i'm glad you put a post about this, I have a huge soft spot for barbie, she is so sweet, the submissive one and has the cutest little face. I feel a bit more protective towards her because Xionati can be a bit of a bully sometimes.

I feel a bit guilty about it though and I make sure that Xionati doesn't know. rolleyes
 
I think whoever I'm cuddling at the time instantly becomes my favourite so it changes 4 times a day! :(|)
Having said that Moonpig wasn't that friendly when we first got her and now she lets me cuddle her and really settles down for cuddle time ( she's even honoured me with the occasional licky kiss ) so I do feel something extra special for her...just don't tell the other three! :red ")

That's kinda the same for me. Before Hamish & Angus arrived Merry was my favourite because he is such a gorgeous old boy and Suilven is a sharp clawed little monster (who is sweet in his own kind of way...)

Now we have two more it's harder not to have favourites but I love them all in their own way but as HHamish is such a cuddler and a little bit special with his needs I do coddle him a bit more...

I adore all of my piggies but Harley, my Aby is a bit special because he was so poorly in May-July, Frankie and Benny because they are our first adopted piggies, Amelia because she was our first sow... so maybe just a tiny bit :))
They are all loved as much as one another though drool x)
 
I love all my piggies, but every now and then, I have one that is just that little more special for some reason or other.
 
Nope, my Squeaky is, and always will be, my absolute favourite.....I don't know why, though, cos he hates being held or cuddled (gets bored and wants to be off exploring after about a nano-second), he's naughty, cheeky and is partial to finger-nibbling (ouch!)....but he's very handsome, bold, fearless, inquisitive and just an all-round very special piggie, he's so full of character.....

I think the fact that I nursed him through a real 'touch and go' illness when he was quite young has given us a strong bond. I don;t know what I'd do without him.....:(

Gah! I always feel terrible when it comes to favourites but I can't help it :D
Often it changes from week to week so at the moment my favourite piggy is Belle because she's recently had babies which meant I got to have her in my room for 5 weeks :)
 
I wouldn't say I have favourites it's just the one boar and one sow out of my beloved piggy population command more affection from me lol.

Coconut - my cuddly, kissy, playful and original boar who has a crazy haircut

Cinnamon - my wonderful little girl who always wants to help me look after another pig in need just like she wanted to adopt baby Cotton before she passed to the Bridge and how she has been looking after Brandy-Snap and Baby. She is also very cheeky and likes to climb up my back, then run down it and if I don't make a fuss of her, she puts her paws up on me or kicks me, runs away and then looks back to see if I noticed ^)

Both also understand that when they are out and I approach them with my hands out and say "back?", if they want to go back to the cage, they put both front paws up on my hand... clever pigs! x>> If not, they scurry away and climb all over me some more like putting their noses in my ear and going "wuup! wuup! wuup!" Naughty little lol!

I try very hard not to have a favourite - even take it in turns for cuddles and feel guilty if one ends up on my lap twice in a row.

In truth I love them in different ways because their personalities are so diverse.

Marmalade - hard on the outside, soft on the inside. Pretends he doesn't need cuddles but is a vulnerable little tyke really.
Freddie - just so, so funny with such quirkly little ways. Gorgeous colouring.
