Recently, I got a sample pack of the Feast of Forage for guinea pigs from The Hay Experts. I gave a handful to my four guinea pigs to share, and they seemed to really like it! I'm thinking about getting the full-size 1 kg bag. I just wanted to double check how often I can give forage to them -- is it okay to offer literally "a handful" every day, or should it be limited to once or twice a week? My little hungry beasts are great hay-eaters; they always have large piles of fresh timothy and meadow hay available in their cage.

FYI that forage mix contains the following ingredients: plantain, dandelion, coneflower, nettle, clover, strawberry leaf, birch leaf, raspberry leaf, linden leaf, melissa, flat leaf parsley, fennel, marigold, sunflower, wild rose, jerusalem artichoke, beetroot

Depends how many pellets you feed.

Mine only get ten pellets a day so I feed them each a large pinch of forage daily.

The ingredients seem OK. Dried forage is quite concentrated so small amounts are probably best, a handful. They said be feed along alongside daily fresh food and of course hay and possibly pellets ❤️

I give a handful as well. I never count but each pig probably gets around ten pellets.

I see. They do get a handful of pellets to share as well as fresh veggies twice a day.

Mine get approximately half a tablespoon of pellets every couple of days and a handful of forage about 3 - 4 times a week

Mine get half a handful of piggie parcel pellets and about the same amount of forage between the two of them once a day. They have 24/7 hay and veggies twice a day.
