So our two very lovely rescue piggies have ad-lib hay, fresh veg twice a day, and a quality pellets available at all times.
Now with our rats (and our rabbits when we used to have them), we never use a bowl for pellets, but instead scatter them inside the cage for the small furries to find in order to keep them occupied for as long as possible.
My question is, should I be doing the same thing for the squeaky pigs, or are they better off having their pellets tidily in a little bowl?
TIA

You can do either. I give mine in a bowl. Unless your guinea pigs are under 6 months then they only need about 20g of pellets a day though.

i do both. they love foraging in their hay for the pellets. and it gives mollie a chance to get some! benjie is pellet mad and eats them so quickly! :)) they get a small amount twice a day at the moment :)

I put pellets in a bowl. I think that the pellets would get lost in the hutch as I put tonnes of hay and aubiose in at the moment.

my chaps have pellets in bowls. their hay is on 2 trays. when its greens time they just have it plopped down for munching, nom nom nom! i have 2 hamsters and i dont give their food in bowls i put it all over their pens ( in tubes, toys, boxes etc)so they can dig/search etc. hope this helps :)
