Hello its emachilds daughter (again sorry folks) I'm looking after friends piggie and found out that when they cleaned his hutch to give me they found a big nest of forkies in it :'(
Dont worry (to much!) as piggie has been living in his other hutch thing for the last 2 weeks.
Now I'm worried that piggie will get ill because i saw a bug in his hutch as i was putting paper down (easier for me to do it at mine than make a mess in the car) How can i check that his hutch is bug free and is there a spray or something i could use?
Again I'm sorry for asking to many questions but I'm really worried bout his health and happieness. Thank you.

hmm..I'm thinking insect or some sort..maybe ants or maggots? i dunno..
 
oh and as for keeping it germ/bug free..rinse the cage down with disinfectant which is diluted normally 1/40 depends on the strength of it :) that will kill any bacteria
 
sorry i didnt know another name for them its just what we call them round here lmao
They are little bug type things with a longish black body and if u try and hurt them they will pinch you. I'm sorry i cant find the real name for them but will try and find out :embarassed:
Lets just say they are not very nice bugs! Sorry everyone!
 
probably earwigs yeah..i have loads in my shed they are horrible things! there seems to be a lot more than usual too
 
my partner calls them forkies and he's from the shetland isles, they are earwiggs i'm sure. where you from then
 
Whatever they are i dont like them lol. They wouldnt hurt piggies through would they?

I think i should make my own account instead of stealing mums for the next 2 weeks hehe ::)
