anyone knows how to report misuse or abuse on the forum and who to?
 
Warning icon on the upper right corner of each post, allows you to report the post (I'm assuming to a moderator for that forum). And the Guidelines thing says that you can PM a mod (mods are listed at the bottom of each forum, right hand side). Hope that helps.
 
As others have said if it is an issue with a particular post you can use the report button and all the mods and admins will have it flagged up to be looked at or if it is an issue of another kind please PM any of the admin or mod team and we'll do all we can to help.

to be honest, i get so mad when people get abusive over the net. one member started sending me abusive emails when i first came on, i got upset after receiving so many that i sent one back,which she sent to a mod and got me an infraction! so never take it into your own hands as they get you blocked.
 
people take it far too seriously. Having been a member of a Liverpool FC forum since 1999 I have been stalked, abused and yelled at. I just laugh at them and report, never answer with anything nasty or bad language which can get you banned from forums. But winding them up gives me the last word which I love to have in an argument.

For all the idiots I've met some lovely people, one of my best friends Rob who we have met with his wife sent us a card today. So for all the nut jobs there are people who are really lovely.

I've seen it on animal forums too, you would think animals would bring us all together but sadly some people just love to backstab. Sod 'them thats what I say! :(|)
 
What I hate are these spammers we've been getting. I don't know if any of you have seen them, since they seem to be posting in the middle of the night your time (which is the evening, my time), and by the time the morning rolls around they've all been deleted. There was something like 15 of them from one person last night.

that's what i reported. they all contained a link which i feared was dodgy... :{

no Chez, i'm not upset, i was concerned that the forum may get corrupted (in the IT sense) and would have to close. it's been so good for me to find this amount of support on here that i just couldn't bear the thought...pow-pow

That's shocking! I think some people go on a power trip on the internet and become more fearless because they're not face to face with the person. Bet if you were to meet up with them they wouldn't be so abusive then.
 
You're quite right, Angeladeedah. People who are abusive online do it because they feel safe enough to do it. When you meet them in real life they tend to be cowards. The unfortunate thing about it, and why it's normally best not to engage them, is that the reason they try to be so all powerful online is that they probably have no power in real life, and may even be the victims of real life bullying. Sad...
 
Yep I agree the person who stalked me was an old friend she pretended to be 3 people and when I met her she was like a mouse and was bullied in school. I know she regrets her actions now but at the time it was horrific.
