Good morning everybody so this afternoon our Foster guinea pig Tomas is leaving us before going to live with his lovely new 5 girlfriends. I am torn between fostering more guinea pigs or adopting guinea pigs what would do you all think? 🤔

Congrats on Tomas finding a home- I'm sure he'll love his new girlfriends. 🥰
You could always continue fostering and be ready for a foster fail if it comes to it?
I think either is wonderful. :)

Wonderful news for little Tomas :yahoo: But a bittersweet time for you. Fostering is an amazing thing to do, you set that piggie off on that new and happy life. See how you feel in a week or two, you might find the answer x

Yes it is bittersweet and yes come this evening I'm sure we'll have a few tears but I am so very happy for him we've taken lots of photos and I've said to Tyler if we continue fostering we should create an album of our Foster Family it does feel lovely being part of their journey. Thank you 💐

Foster and rehome any piggies you can let go. It means that you are helping more piggies in need to find a safe new home so the rescue has more spaces to offer but when - and sooner or later it is going to happen to every fosterer - you will come across that piggy/pair that is truly meant for you, you will have the forever space for them and can do so without the bad conscience that can otherwise come with a foster fail. ;)

I think you're right. I saw two piggies that have been in foster for over 6 months and felt so bad for them even though they are with a great foster family and thought should I adopt them but I think my gut feeling is to have another foster 🥰

Congratulations on giving Tomas such a lovely foster home. Great news about his new home.
Haggis / Harris is a lucky boy to be fostered by you.
I like the idea of a foster family photo album.
