On Tuesday we brought a full carrier home from Glynneath Guinea Pig Rescue after our usual visit to help with the clean up. These are three little girls who were surrendered by their owners because they had to take on some Jack Russels that wouldn't leave them alone.
They are, apparently, 8 months old but are tiny, with baby nails and small frames. They were originally adopted from Pets at Home.

From the back, they are Valentina (Black and White, smooth coat), Camille(Long coated coronet) and Katriona (with the funky hair.)

They are very scared and have come to stay for a bit of spoiling and socialising. This I think we can do!
They have already got the fridge door noise sorted and are wheeking with the big girls at the rustle of a plastic bag. They seem not too bad in the cage, but very shy on the lap, particularly Valentina, who is definitely the boss in the cage!

They will be staying for about 6 weeks, I think, and then they will be available to adopt!......Anyone?

Bless them x) Don't know how people can give up piggies.

I'm sure they are going to very spoiled with you and hope they find forever homes soon

They are very cute. I am sure they will be snapped up really quickly drool

They look lovely. A friend of mine is moving house in 6 weeks time and we'll be building a 5x2 C&C in his spare room for some piggys! I'll be taking up to see Suzy when he's ready.
Could possibly be the perfect timing :P Hope they become brave soon!

gorgeous, what beautiful sweethearts wishing them all the best for the future :)

A quick update on these girlies. Valentina has proved to be very dominant and has been bullying the other two and guarding the food and water, so it as decided to return her to the rescue and see how she got on with a dominant, neutered boar who has been there for a while. Mr. Scruff had proved just too rude for all the piggies he had met during "dating" but he met his match in Valentina and they are now "In Love". It's great to see her happy and gaining confidence from her "Husboar"!

The other two are just lovely and starting to come right out of their shells now that Valentina has left. I'm not sure that they are a pair but they are tolerating each other well. They eat veggies from our hands now and will wait, when cornered, and step onto our hands for lap time. Katriona still adores chin rubs and Camille loves to have her crest gently scratched.

Here's Katriona during laptime.

Such beautiful guineas, glad they were surrended though, sounds as if they were having a bit of a stressful time of it.
