Fostering guinea pigs

Good morning

Sorry for posting a bit lately. 🤣

I have a rather silly question please -
I am planning to foster guinea pigs as one of the santuaries near us had a large (105 i think) intake of guinea pigs.

I can only put their enclosure in the lounge where my 2 guinea pigs already are. (They will be around 6 feet away from each other)

I was just wondering - will the other guinea pigs scent trigger a fight with my 2 guinea pigs? I am planning to only foster boars as I have boars at home.

Sorry if this is a silly question. I don't want to take any risks with my boys.
 
It is not likely to trigger a fight if you only take boars - however they are likely to be interested in where the new scent is coming from

As you are aware you cannot take any sows into the same room as your boys as that is highly likely to cause a fight
 
Good luck! That's such a lovely thing to do. I have thought about doing it but know I would find it too hard to let them go again!

Thank you so much. I think it's a sweet spot for me as I want more but i couldn't have more. So having them temporary would be beneficial for my "cravings" lol

But who knows I may end up adopting hahaha

What a wonderful thing to do. I foster for Merrypigs rescue and like you have all boys and our guys and the foster boys have so far always got along fine even sometimes being side by side ours. As mentioned it sometimes results a little bit of new excitement but once they've said hello they just chat and interact through the bars 💙💙
