Found a bone.....in the piggies hay

I was giving my girls a handful of hay last night and felt something hard in the hay bag. I pulled it out and realised that it was a bone :{ its quite big which is lucky I suppose as if it was smaller, I may not have noticed and given it to the piggles. I have emailed the shop where I got the hay from. I just hope its not a human bone :...
 
Oh no! I hope you get a response! My father in law found rabbits leg with foot still attached in a bag of hay once!
 
i found a beer can in one once, the company basically said theres not much they can do about it and it happen's, will you have to send the bone off to be examined?
 
I have already had an email back from them which is really good service. They have been very apologetic about it and said they will forward my email and the photo to there supplier. They have said that if i take the email in on my next visit to the store then I will get a free bag of hay, which I am happy to receive as it is normally very fresh, good quality hay.
I don't think I'll have to send the bone to them but I will keep it just in case there supplier decides they want to investigate further.

Toffee- that is even worse!
 
Yuck. I get bales of hay and am always worrying about finding either something dead or dog poo :...
My mum had half a rabbit in her bale, like one of those wierd modern art things. I'm guessing it was dead in the field and got scooped up. Poor thing.
 
The worst I've ever found in a hay bag was rabbit droppings, dead leaves and nettles.

That's pretty grim what others have found.
 
I asked them if there hay went through some sort of quality control checks and they assured me that they do. I'm almost scared to look through to the bottom of the bag in case I find more bones or a skull!

Ewww, totally vile!
I had a bad batch a while ago with prickles and mud all in it! Sometimes it seems to be someones barn sweepings!

I know, its ridiculous. They should really take more care as its going to be eaten, I'm sure no person would want to eat prickles, mud or bones for that matter!
 
i remember finding a birds foot in a bag once, i think it was a pets at home bale of hay. i was completely creeped out but glad i found it before the piggies did. poor bird - i do hope the bird in question is living a full and enjoyable life with only one leg but very much doubt it! xx

I'd be really upset if I found anything like that in hay, but it is good they have responded to you quickly.

I am sorry, but the image of the dog trotting off with the offending item did make me laugh.:x
 
Found a dead shrew in mine once. Worst of all I noticed it in the hay in my piggies run dont know how he'd been in there with the shrew. :{
