Hi

Could be fungal or mites or a bite from fighting. I would suggest vets tomorrow to be certain. The earlier you start treating skin conditions the better. Will try to point someone with more experience your way.

Hi, it's difficult to tell from a photo but it looks like either fungal or mites to me though it is possible to get both at the same time when a pig is run down. It looks like the mark may be a scratch? The reason I think fungal is that the skin looks fluoresced. Is the hair coming out easily when tugged? this would indicate fungal. Also is the hair broken half way down the shaft? this would indicate mites but can also be a sign of a fungal condition called broken back. I would get a vet appointment as soon as you can. If the vet wants to treat for mites, please ask for it by injection and not spot on as this is more effective. As for fungal I would suggest Imaverol dips and I can help you with where to get it etc and what to do if the vet agrees that it is fungal. Please note that the vet may just think of ringworm in terms of fungal but there are other types of fungal. Broken back for example is caused by an overgrowth of Candida in the gut.

Certainly looks more Fungal-like to me! I'd get a vet appointment ASAP and as Helen stated opt for the injection.
