When weighing and doing a once over I found a small lump on Winnys shoulder/back... it's not visible on the skin, she didnt like it when I touched it ...

I will call the vets on Tuesday.... 🥺🥺

Hope its nothing serious
3 out of 4 of my pigs have fatty lumps!
Me too! The only experience I have of lumps is Gladys and hers was a brain tumour that came up literally overnight.. and was very visible... hopefully it will be a fatty lump 🤞🤞

Just keep an eye on it. Unless is it starting to blow up and grow very quickly, it is a regular opening hours issue.
Is it sitting loosely in the skin or is it firmly attached to the body?

I will do... I will have another feel tomorrow and try and describe it better!

Hope it’s nothing serious, one of my guinea pigs Ted died in February 😥
but a couple of years ago he was given a month to live by the vets after I found a lump. However it turned out to just be a fatty lump

So I had a feel tonight... it kind of feels like it is free moving and like a spot under your skin would feel. I can pinch it on her skin and it comes with the skin if that makes any sense what so ever!

Take deep breath - this usually means that it is a harmless cyst which you can have vet checked at their convenience during normal opening hours.

Thank you... will ring them Tuesday x

Try not to worry too much. Ginger my skinny pig has two lumps. One on his back which is a sebaceous cyst and one on his stomach which is a fatty lump.

The vet said just to keep a check on them and to take him back if they grew or started to bother him.

Fingers crossed for Winny.xx

Tuesday 14th Up-Date - Rang the vets, they are open but only seeing emergencies so I had a consultation over the phone - quite hard when its about a lump! Vet has suggested I continue to monitor over the next few days, I am checking it daily for signs of growth and we will go from there...

Winny is fine in herself, weight ok, eating etc...

well the first dose of Baytril didn't go down well..... I dipped the syringe in some squash then managed to get it in her fast, then she did a little shudder as if to say ' What the hell was that? '

That's what Christian's reaction was too! I had a bribe ready after. Winny will be more wary of the syringe next time. Good luck!

I hope the lump is nothing serious.

Bernie has a little free moving lump next to one of his nipples. I'm keeping an eye on it. But it has bern felt by our vet and she wasnt atall concerned. This was about 2 months ago. I dont think its a mammory tumour. Fingers crossed. Hope your pig is ok

Thanks... i am having a feel each day and hope for no significant changes! One of my other piggies had mammory tumours...they were all removed whilst she was in the rescue...so all I saw were photos after her op...

They are supposed to be more common in males from what i read. They make the nipple swell dont they?

Hope the lump’s nothing to worry about. Good luck with her nasty baytril! Foul stuff, don’t blame her not being a fan! x

Bill had two mammary tumours removed in October. I thought there was only one it was tiny but Simon found another which was a few millimetres. When he squeezed his nipple it bled but was never swollen.

o dear . Well il keep an eye out. Def not an emergency though . Kim has already looked at bernies when he went in with that smegma lump when debbie took him in for me. Good that we are talking the same vets aswell . Even more reassuring.

i rushed bernie in with that big smegma lump because of the size and location of it. Right in the centre of his tummy region
