Hi all!

Last night I found a lump on Meggy-Moo (Nutmeg is her real name. Lol). It's on her back & I'm hoping it's just a cyst.

She's booked in with our small animal specialist tomorrow morning, but this is the first time I've had to take one of my piggies to the vet. I just wondered, do I take all three so they're together? Like I would with my bunnies. Or do I just take her?

She's only a baby really, around 2-3 yrs old (She's a rescue, they all are, so we're not sure of actual ages). It doesn't seem to be painful and it's not bothering her. Hopefully the trip tomorrow is quick and painless for her.

Sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed it is just a cyst. I've only taken mine to the vets once and I took him alone. I put a puppy pad, hay and cucumber in the carrier so he felt a bit safer. He got big cuddles afterwards and he seemed fine. Apart from biting the vet....:)

I prefer to take at least one "pawholder" companion, or in the case of a trio, all three together to the vet. The piggies are much calmer and less stressed if they are together.

All the best! Hopefully it is just a harmless sebaceous cyst.

I kept meaning to update this thread! The Vet had a look at the lump & it was a cyst :/ When he squeezed it, a bit of pus came out & he gave us two options: We could either leave it & monitor it, keep emptying it ourselves, or have it removed. We opted to have it removed as he said she'd have to have that done eventually! She sailed through the surgery & is happy & healthy again now :D He said they're quite common for piggies, so will keep a close eye on them all! The other pigs weren't bothered by it at all & they went with her for the surgery. :) Thank you all for your advice! x
