We've just bathed our guineapig, and I felt a lump underneath him, we will be taking him to the vets next week
We've only just found it has anybody had anything like this before?

Lumps can be a number of things from fairly harmless fatty lumps or sebaceous cysts to something much more sinister. Your vet will have a good feel and may take a biopsy for testing to see if they can find out what the lump is. When my late Peter first got his fatty lumps the vet sent two tests to the lab and both came back inconclusive, I think it was due to too much blood in the sample but can't be certain as it was years ago. As the lump grew very quickly we opted to have it removed and when it (and some of the other many lumps the vet found during surgery) where examined they were fatty deposits which did not really impact his quality of life for his remaining years.

There is a number of lumps; most are thankfully harmless fatty lumps or a range of cysts. If your lumps is sitting loose in the skin, then the likelihood that it is a harmless sebaceaous cyst is quite high. However, any lumps needs to vet checked.

It doesn't look worrying to me, but it is always good to be on the safe side - for your own peace of mind! ;)
