Today I was cleaning my boys cage when I noticed a spot on my pigs leg. I went to have a closer look to exam it and it looks to me like a rash. I made an appointment with my local vet to see exactly what it could be but does anyone else have any idea and should I be worried. He’s still. A fairly young pig I got a few months back.
I did have a case of ringworm but could I have possible given it to my pig or vice versa any help would be appreciated.
What should I do in the mean time is there anyway I can clean it or even add any topical treatment that wouldn’t be harmful to guinea pigs

I do know alot of Guinea pigs lose furin that area due to cleaning themselves I think. Mine both have it, but not this much, if there is a rash you are doing the right thing by seeing a vet, just make sure you wash your hands after touching, and if you have any other pets, I would take them to get checked too.

Over grooming can happen and generally i find that is due to boredom. Changing things around and introducing new toys or eating games may help with that.
Could do with a nail trim too by the looks of it. (sorry).
Keep an eye on it the mark for sure but it's in the location of over grooming to me.

Precaution is key though.

If it is just a boredom issue how would i clean the area? Should i just clean it for now kr in the meantime prevent it from getting infected just until it take him the the vet.

If you have a vet appointment lined up please don't do anything with the wound.
Unless it is clearly infected or bleeding then it is better if the vet can see it 'untreated'.
It will help them make a more concise diagnosis, and then they will tell you how best to clean it.
Good luck at the vets.

So I recently posted about a week ago about my guinea pigs sudden and odd rash. To which I want to thank everyone for there helpful thoughts and and advise. I took pig to the vet yesterday and did find out rather the odd rash on his leg was actually a possible case of ringworm. I was prescribed antifubgal medications both topical and oral along with a medicated shampoo which instructs to give baths 2 times a week until shampoo runs out.
I am asking for a quick recommendation.
Should I do 2 times or week or space it out for only 1 time a week.
I always here people say giving a pig a bath many times is bad for their skin so I am reluctant to do it so often.
It’s a 6 week treatment total but I want some advice other then that my piggies are healthy and happy.
His cage mate “little one” is also being treated for ringworm just in case.

Firstly well done for having your piggy seen a by a vet.
I agree with @Claire W and would follow the vets advice to bathe twice a week.
Ringworm can be persistent, so it is great that they are taking it seriously and giving you treatment to get it under control.

Noramlly regular baths are not good for guinea pigs, but in the case of illness and skin conditions the usual rules don't apply - it is more important to get the ringworm sorted before it spreads or becomes worse.
