This might be the wrong place to post, but I bought a bale of Timothy Hay from a local source and found a few dry, sort of purple fuzzy twigs. Does anyone know what this is? Are they dangerous? Not sure if my girls have eaten any.

A plant identification app I use thought it might be red millet, but it's difficult to be sure from a photo especially when it has been dried and possibly lost leaves etc.
Red millet is a cereal crop, often put in food for wild birds. It probably grew amongst the timothy by accident. Guineas shouldn't be given cereal seeds generally, but I doubt a sprig of this stuff would cause harm, if they had eaten any. (Can't be 100% sure on that though, I'm no expert)
