I have ¼ or so of a bottle of Uriflow tablets left over with an expiry date of November 2010. I’m happy to post these out to anyone wanting to give them a go on their bladder stone pig. I don’t want anything in return for them, chances are whoever takes them will already have spent a fortune on operations etc. and I’d rather they go to a good home.

I’m passing them on because my poor pig Charlie was put to sleep on Thursday. He’d been very brave and recovered from two operations back in April. I’ll never be sure if the Uriflow helped in his case as he was on a combination of remedies, but his squeaking did finally stop for the last 3 or 4 weeks.

I wasn’t expecting him to recover fully and he’d lost almost half his body weight but he was still eating and happily hobbling around the living room. When I got up on Thursday I found him lying down, unable to move his back legs. He’d stopped eating and wouldn’t hold his head up anymore. He’d been through enough and I didn’t want him to have any more tests done :(

You can read an article on Uriflow here: http://www.gorgeousguineas.com/documents/Marbles%20Bladder%20Stones.pdf

I am so sorry that you lost Charlie; I lost a bladder stone piggy of mine a few years back in the wake of her second operation. It was a gutting experience.

I am so sorry for your loss, thats so sad. Play in peace Charlie xx

I am so sorry that you lots poor Charlie :0 He was a fighter.

It is a very kind offer that you are making. Why don't you donate the tablets to a rescue as many of them relay on donations and I am sure Charlie would love to help piggies less fortunate than he was :)

I'm so sorry you lost Charlie, Sarah. You're right, he did put up a very brave fight. Big hugs. xx

So sorry to hear about Charlie, he was definalty a fighter and you gave him such a great home and cared for him so well during his illness.

RIP Charlie.

I'm so sad that you lost Charlie, you tried your best for him xx

It seems Billiam is also stuck with these dreaded bladder stones. I was hoping the op might cure him but he's still suffering. I was thinking of trying Uriflow but don't worry if they've already gone.

Thinking of you

Clairelove - have PM'ed you

Vickie - so sorry I can't send you the Uriflow, clairelove wrote to me and asked for them. I was hoping I'd have enough to split them and send you both some but I've just checked and there's not really enough.

Maybe try Shilintong? At least you can order that from this country (Uriflow has to be ordered from the US).

I really hope Billiam gets better. It's definitely worthwhile asking the vet for Septrin. Charlie was taking it off and on after his operations, whenever he had blood in his wee.

Hi Sarah

Don't worry hun, I understand! I was looking for Shilintong on the net last week and was sure I found it to buy in the UK but since then have been able to find the website again (I can't remember which one it was!). If you don't mind could you send me the link?

I also found this website: http://www.petherbs.co.uk/ - if you click on Bladder Crystals and Bladder Stones it gives you 2 different products: Lysium which supposed to dissolve stones and Eurologist which is more for cystitis but might help with his pain? I'll order Shilintong if I can find it but wondered if these other two would be any good...

If I can stop his pain that would be half of the battle.

Thanks x
