Freeze Packs

Haha, that's why I always have 4. I use 2 at a time, so there's always 2 in the freezer for when I forget.

I'm freezing an old hot water bottle to put in the cage. I've used an old one so that if it ends up splitting, it's not a huge loss. :D

I have put the snuggle safe heat thing in the freezer - does anyone know if you can ?

I saw somewhere on here that you should only put them in the fridge and not the freezer. (I haven't done either yet.)

I can confirm I have put snuggle safes in the freezer before with no problems. They can be useful if you are short of space in your freezer. Whilst they don't stay cold as long as ice pods or frozen water bottles, but still effective than nothing at all.

I freeze my blocks & ive made little envelopes out of fleece so the blocks can go in there. Don't want my piggies to get frost burn.
I've got 3 per piggy & rotate them so they always have one, ready?

A little late but... I put water in a plastic Chinese takeaway tub and froze it and it worked a charm. It as still cold when I got home from work and the piggies loved it. As it was rectangular, it was easy to wrap in a bit of fleece too. I'm keeping the tubs I have for the next hot spell as they're the best thing I've tried!

I went to Notcutt's garden centre today. Not often impressed by the way they keep their piggies, but there was an in ice bottle in each cage  A good indication that they know what they are doing.

There was also an amazing cardboard castle in one enclosure - however, there was no way for the piggies to explore the castle, so it was slightly nibbled from below, but otherwise played no enrichment purpose - just looked good for the customers!

Anyway, they at least get one brownie point from me!
