Hi all! My new piggy Sprout has settled in well and seems very happy and healthy apart from the fact that she coughs in a weird way maybe once or twice a day! I've never had a pig do this before and I'm really worried that it could be a sign of an URI. I haven't managed to actuallt watch her doing this, but it sounds like the pig in this video.

Should I take her to the vet?

It’s always best to get any coughs checked out. Although once or twice a day is not frequent, it’s always a good idea to get new piggies vet checked in any event.

Thanks for the reply! She's from a rescue who said they'd had her checked by the vet recently so I thought it would be fine, I might take her anyway just to be safe!

Yes do take her. If she is ill, then any symptoms may have appeared since her last vet checked.
