Fresh Foods

I dont think my piggy was given any fresh food by her previous owner. I give her greens (dandelion leaves, blackberry leaves, grass) which she absolutely loves and I gave her half a tomato last night. She sniffed it and looked at it as if to say "what do I do with it". This morning, she has eaten most of it. I had cut it into smallish pieces for her. It looks like I will be introducing a lot of fresh food to her.I will be trying her on lettuce, carrots and all sorts, but not yet. i dont want her to end up with an upset stomach through too much new foods.

Great that she likes toms....most of mine aren't keen and the ones that do end up looking like vampires! I found herbs a great way to help piggies new to veg become more adventurous my two newest additions hadnt had much veg before they came to me and initially seemed reluctant to try new things but herbs went down a treat!

I've tried a few times to give mine tomato but they wont even have a nibble, oh well! They do love herbs - coriander and parsley

lol. Had to laugh at the 'vampires' part. I just pictured them with red all around their mouths. lol.

I think this is why Pip likes dandelion leaves. They are classed as a weed, but are a herb. This is most probably why Pip and our rabbit loves them. Dandelion and burdock drink is nice too (for me not the pets. lol).

Yum to dandelion and burdock! Yes my lot go mad for dandelions too especially my buns who are incredibly fussy eaters!

Our rabbit is a fussy eater as well. We get her foods with pellets in and she wont eat the pellets. She will eat the squashed dried veg and we found out she loves dried banana pieces. She loves her fresh greens but didnt touch her tomato at all. She burried it. lol.
