I bought a bale of hay today but was informed that it was cut on Wednesday and collected from field yesterday.

How long should I leave it before giving it to the guinea pigs to eat?

I believe hay should be spread out to dry after cutting for 5 good dry/sunny days, turning over halfway through before being baled. If you can leave it out next week when weather is supposed to be good for a couple of days, it should be fine!

Hi Goldie,

Usually I get it from Yate but this time i got it from Stowey farm in Chew Valley when I got the bedding.

Thanks Fi.

I got a lovely bale today, which apparently was cut 2 weeks ago. It is a supplier not far from Stowey where I get my Megazorb also ... might be the same one! :)

It smells "lush" as they say in Bristol, although I am a Londoner.

I think you are thinking of A J Wyatt, Stowey House Farm.
