I thought it was the parakeets but thought it was weird as id never heard them make that noise before, but its Freya! Ive never had a pig make this noise before in over 12 Years, I'm sat here and she won't stop chirping :))

Aww, that's so cute! I've not heard a piggy chirp in person. Well Lexi has made a weird noise similar to a chirp but it only lasted a couple of seconds.
Bless her, what a sweety! x)

Chirping! you are blessed. What are the others doing are they watching her? Is she staring in space doing it?

Is chirping a good noise or a bad noise for a guinea pig to make? Either way, I bet it sounds really cute :) My girls have never done it as far as I'm aware.

xx

No one knows much about chirping, we've heard it a few times. Treacle did it once after she was startled, but Putt did it once for no reason at all. A very strange sound but the don't seem in any distress when doing it.

2 of my girls chirp, but only ever in the middle of the night, and as soon as they see a light (i.e. my phone trying to record it) they stop, or if they hear the slightest sound they stop, but it is really loud, and if they dont see or hear anything they go on for ages!

xx

One of mine was chirping at 2 o,clock this morning. I didnt get up to see who it was but it went on for ages. I have made a recording a while ago when I had a regular chirper. Took the recording to the vet and he was astonished, couldnt quite believe it was a piggie.

I have been keeping guinea pigs for over 22 years and have been fortunate to hear piggies singing just twice and one of my daughter's heard it once.

It is a rare occurrence and they look like they are in a trance! No-one quite knows why they do it but you are certainly lucky if you have heard your piggy sing.

It is delightful! :<>

Both of my girls chirp. I did manage to record one of them doing it and everyone I have played it to can't believe it is a piggie making the noise. My girls do it at night and I am pretty sure they don't do it because they are upset or sad or scared.

Chirping

My piggy Burt has just recently started chirping, I am not sure why he is but he doesn't seem angry or upset, it's really loud and while I was at school my mum said he did it twice more for ages ( like 10 mins ) this is the third time he has done it. I thought there was a bird in their room because the window was open for a bit, my other pig Ernie (they don't get along at all!) was just lying down. They are in separate cages but next to each other, ferplast 120's I don't know if he's calling to him or something? Any help would be appreciated! :P

As for the environment theory they both do regularly hear the birds singing in the morning, maybe there is something! x

My Piggie Zee did this chirping thing to once in the middle of the night I actually thought it was my budgies. But I shot out of my bed I literally jumped out of my sleep it startled me that bad. Zee used to be inside my bedroom in her indoor cage but now she's been in the spare room since she was ill.

Yeah she was all spaced out chirping. I was bloody terrified I was like oh my gosh she is pain, what's happening...but then she stopped and was fine.
I was confused and looked it up and no one knew what it was, lol.
