Friend For My Male Skinny Pig

Hi all. I recently adopted a young skinny pig male. I was not expecting him so I had to rush and build a cage and get all his things. He was abandoned at my mothers work (she works for a vet).

I've named him Marble and he's a super happy and healthy little piggy. However, he is alone. I want to find him a friend as soon as possible.

I was just wondering if I had to find him another skinny or if a guinea pig would be good match still? I'm sorry if it's a silly question, I know they are very similar. Skinny pigs are very hard to come by around here and almost never show up in shelters from what I have seen. Marble is the first skinny pig I've ever seen in real life lol.

It's not a silly question at all. Skinny piggies get on with their furry friends the same :) they see noi difference they are just another breed of piggy, i guess pigs dont even think of themselves in breed terms at all :)
 
My Male skinny Ronnie lives with a hairy sow called Luna (he is neutered). I think a skinny and a hairy work well together. Just bear in mind that skinnies can be highly strung and full of character. It took a while to find someone who would tolerate Ronnie and his behaviour. It is wonderful you have taken him in though.

:btt: What we really need is a pigture of @emmylane's skinny! and to remember the fact that she started this thread asking for help for company for her new skinny pig! Enough about my piggies. I only posted it to show emmylane what mine looked like!
