Just thought i would share my story with you.

OMG I HAVE NEVER BEEN SOOOOOOOOO SCARED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!. I just popped out to the garage to check my guinea pigs and rabbit had been covered for the night (Cages with bubble wrap on) And also to give my guineas my veg i didnt eat for tea. I went into the garage and it was dark so i turned the light on and turned on the torch i opened there cage and the igloo was turned side ways it wasnt flat on the ground it was turned on its side nearly upside down, all i could see was my guinea pig dale eating some veg i couldnt see chip, even though i had the torch turned on near the cage. No sign of him i ran to my house bursting out tears, my dad went out and checked and there was chip. He was fine, he was sitting there eating the bit of veg that was left because dale ate most of it cheeky little thing hehe. But i cant believe how i did not see chip i didnt see him at all i thought he was dead in the igloo ( i know i should think this but i just did)

But I'm VERY HAPPY NOTHING HAPPEND.

something similar once happened to me i was watching the guinea pigs from the couch and maurice wasn't moving so i went over to their cage and usually they would leap away or at least lift their heads....nothing and my heart leapt so i touched him and well i dont know who jumped further into the air him or me but was glad he was ok poor little man was only taking a nap and I disturbed him

Sometimes it is very hard to be logical when things aren't as normal!

I had a similar fright yesterday with my est. 5 year old sow Delilah. I even nudged her and she wouldn't move, her ears felt cool. It was not until I actually lifted her that she awoke, and gave me a nice nip for my worries!

I was hysterical to say the least when maurice (bless him ) got stuck underneath one of our chairs while out for a run. We tried coaxing him out with food but he was well and truly stuck - OH basically wrecked the chair almost to get him out (this was after he had told me to get out of the livingroom as I wasny helping matters with all my blubbing) he brought him to me when he got him out and i almost squeexed him to death with relief that he was aloive - we took him to the vets where they gave him an adrenaline shot we then took him home to be kept warm kept him drinking and he was fine.

On the other Jules wasnt happy at all as we left him at home while at the vets and he had a right cob on when we returned

What an awful fright for you hun but I am pleased that Chip is safe and well.
I had a bit of a fright today. Eleanor and Eliza were out in their play tent. Eleanor was in the dome and Eliza was snoozing on a piece of fleece. She didn't move for ages and it suddenly dawned on me that she hadn't even flinched when there was a loud noise on the TV. I sent Chris over to check on her and she suddenly jumped up and ran off as he went to stroke her.

It's funny how they worry us so much.

I have had the same thing happen with my pigs and my hammy, they really do put us through it. :{

I thought I lost Ludo today but he was hidden in the extra fleece I had put in, Hoggle was running around which made me think he was upset that Ludo died. Wish I didn't think like that.

I have had the odd disappearance over the years, and it always gives you a bad fright!

I have frights all the time! Its easy to jump to a bad conclusion unfortunately, and I think its just because we're all so afraid of anything bad happening.
I used to spend so much time worrying about my boys as they are my first piggies and I didn't know first hand what was 'normal'. I spend less time worrying now because I've got to know them, but they still panic me every now and again!
