Whenever i approch my Piggies cage if they are out the run inside. Is there anyway to break this habit ive had them since April.

It is not uncommon. Try to gently talk to them as soon as you come into the room and keep up your chatter - a predator that is open about where he is is not hunting and therefore no danger.

Sit quietly next to run until they come out again for a little treat. Praise them a lot, like you would a little dog, for ever little achievement.

Guinea pigs are prey animals. Piggies who run for shelter are the normal ones :)

I've had mine since october. One of the girls were really scared and she has just now started to stay out when I come to the cage (she knows I bring nice tasting stuff :) )

It can take time to get piggies comfortable. Try spending time by the cage if you're reading, having a snack or on the phone/computer. Is it on the floor or on a table? I noticed a big difference when I made them a new raised cage because I don't "attack" from above. Birds of prey are a guinea pigs biggest enemy in the wild so they are much more comfortable with people at their own level. Good luck!

I always try to talk to my girls when I walk into the room, but sometimes they still run. I put them in their outside run for the first time yesterday, and they were terrified - they ran into their cardboard box everytime I went into the garden!
