Front leg limping

Hi all, I’ve noticed that one of my guinea pigs is limping and it seems to be one of her front legs. It isn’t necessarily stopping her from eating or drinking as I’ve seen her doing this but she isn’t an active as she usually is.

Her leg doesnt look swollen and and she hasn’t got any signs of bumble foot but she’s hiding her paw and her nails are scrunched up, but she’s using it to clean herself.

Hoping to get her into the vets asap but wondering if anyone had any ideas what could be causing this?

Sprains and twisted joints are not at all uncommon in lively piggies. Like with humans, they can happen in any joint from the spine downward and not just in the foot to cause a limp. Because the front feet are the weight bearing ones, a limp is always more pronounced.

Have the leg vet checked but please do not worry too much if your piggy is still able to put a little weight on their foot.

Thank you so much, I didn’t think it would be anything serious as when I’ve touched it she doesn’t seem bothered.

Unfortunately we’ve had bad snow and our street is full of ice so we’ve been unable to take her to the vets the past couple of days so I just wanted to put my mind at ease

If it is just mild, simply keep an eye on it but it should rectify itself over the coming days; see it as a bit of a twisted elbow or shoulder...
These things have a bad habit of happening at the most inconvenient times.

One of my guinea pigs have the same symptom, I think not serious now, but seems his right front leg has problem. He still can move around the cage, but isn't active as usual. Looks like he's not comfortable with right front leg.
