We have a guineapig which over the past few weeks has lost both front legs below the knee and 2 toes off her rear left hand foot due to atrophy after an attack by a gerbil. 3 weeks on the vet says she is doing very well, though she is in some discomfort she eating and drinking wery well, she lets us pick her up and pet her and surprisingly is still fairly mobile. Has any body owned a guineapig which has lost limbs and can anyone advise us on natural or herble pain relief

I have a three legged piggie whos does well. Care needs to be taken if your little one has lost so much of her limbs to ensure she does not get too soiled with urine for example as she may not be able to stance as normal to urinate or get away from it well. Long term metacam may also be a good idea, herble pain relief will not give her any pain relief. I would also ensuring she has a soft absorbent bedding such as vetbed to keep her clean and comfortable. Taking on the care of a guinea pig this disabled will mean lots of care and dedication from your for the rest of her life. Hope your little one recovers well.

Thank you, that is really helpful. She's a bit unsteady at the moment but she only lost the 2nd leg last night. Our vet said she is a miracle pig

Hello. Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to hear your girl has had such a rotten experience.
She’s lucky to have you to care for her.
