Fruit And Veg?

What fruit and veg do you feed your piggies? Two new piggies have moved in with us so I'm doing a fruit and veg shop. We know they like carrots & apples, they don't seem to be touching the cucumber. Any ideas of what I can get? Thanks:) x
 
Hiya have a look at this thread as it gives you an idea of what your piggies might like to eat with regard to fruit and veg. It's great fun finding out what your piggies like, it's a good idea to introduce veggies slowly to avoid any tummy upsets.

With our piggies we have ended up with a list of likes and dislikes of foods. Sometimes we think we need to produce a menu for their perusal before feeding them.

I'm having great fun trying out my two on new foods and treats so far I have discovered they really like:- beetroot, celery, tomato,melon, grapes, flat leaf parsley, cucumber, peppers and satsumas, dandelion flowers, raspberry leaves, dandelion leaves, clover.
Don't mind :- carrot. sweet potato, brocolli stalk and floret,
They don;t seem to like carrots which has really surprised me.
Therir biggest favourite of all is GRASS lots and lots of it, they are like four legged mowing machines.
 
One of my piggies eat hay like theres no tomorrow, the other does but not as much. They both love carrots. I've done a shop so I can try different things with them (Not too much) :D
 
My piggies seem to be a bit fussy but they aren't all that well so that may be why. They aren't fond of cucumber or bananas or peppers really! They seem to like apple sometimes, a bit of carrot, celery, broccoli if it isn't too old, LOVE dandelion leaves, a bit of kiwi here and there! Still experimenting, is it safe to give them things like grapes and lettuce? Tomatoes is a new one I like that!

They can have lettuce but not iceburg. Tomato is fine but as it is a fruit, only in moderation. One grape as a treat is fine.
 
What might be good stable vegetables to give them often?
 
Mine get a lot of celery, buy it specially for them cos I hate the stuff! Might try tomatoes tomorrow, try and get my poorly babies' vitamin C up

Mine are not too keen on carrot either.
 
Mine love carrot. They take them into their hiding places to eat them. Kale, purple lettuce, and other salad, non iceberg, lettuces. They love gala apples, but not so much on the Granny Smith apples. Strawberries depend on the day. We only give a small slice of fruit daily, rotating through to see what they like. Orange is a rare treat. They have been with us for five weeks and are settling in now. Still don't want to be picked up, but after the "chase" they calm down for petting.
 
Mine are a similar age and they don't love being picked up, but once they're in our laps they're perfectly happy!
 
Rambo and Patch like to nibble on orange peel!
They love cucumber and celery - I have had Patch sniff my fingers when I wasn't paying attention to her and she's bit them as they smell of celery.
I really want to see their reaction with banana and the peel just because I'm curious.

It'll be a desired taste… makes me cringe eating a little
 
I know with rabbits, that pineapple is a cure for constipation, so I would use it sparingly, as the acidity might bother them as well.

Well turns out they can have it 1-2 times per week..I won't give it to them that often... But I just gave them all a very small piece and just like their mom they love it! :clap:So when in season I will at that to the list as I buy whole pineapples and cut them myself.
 
I love pineapple so I will have to share it with mine next time I have it! I just offered my two some mint for the first time and they turned their noses up at it lol
 
Trying flat leaf parsley today, hopefully I can get them off eating nothing but hay and lettuce!
