Frustrated Guinea Pigs mad at Daddy

Yesterday I posted some pics and mentioned that Midnight or Twinkle had done damage. In fact one of them had managed to chew the HDMI cable from the Tivo box.

So I blocked access, currently this is a temporary fix to be made permanent.

Well when I let the out for free time this morning, first Twinkle then Midnight checked it out and they couldnt get through. It was like a tag team. First oone then the other would race back and forth through their big tunnel (about 4 foot long) to grab our attention while the other tried to clear the blockage.

After ten minutes they seemed to give up and both went to Star who is 2 years older. Star wandered over and had a go but quickly gave up and returned to the cage.

We then watched as the three of them put noses together and started chuntering at one another for a few minutes before finding a spot to lie down.

I am sure they were sulking.

I have witnessed similar behaviour with mine when I blocked off sensitive bits in my living room, like insulation thread on radiator valves, cables, wallpaper, access to behind the sofa or the bookcase...

They can be very determined little - and they can teamwork! mallethead

Ha ha! Naughty Piggies! They are more clever they they let on.. I keep waiting to see them get some wire cutters to get out of the C&C grids.

I was having a nostalgia attack the weekend so Sue tried to find out how much the old Colditz board game was.

I now have images of Guinea Pig escape committees gathering escape gear (chunks of cucumber, rolled up lettuce leaves etc) and preparing to either tunnel under or go over the wire (C&C wire).

After all they do love their tunnels. Do I call the tunnels we have them Tom, Dick and Harry??

I have playpens all around tv, Internet cables etc! I've been through housephones, Internet hubs! Cheeky little things x

Ha ha that's brilliant. My herd is free range and we have grids round the edges of the room blocking off wires, behind the sofa, behind the telly etc. The minute they spot a gap though they are a nightmare. They often go trotting out into the hall too if we open up the grids, it only takes one and then we have a piggy train leading out into the hall to chew the wallpaper.
