It really is never ending. As some of you may be aware, Nibbler went in for a bladder stone removal op last Thursday and as a result, we'd put a divider in the cage he shares with his brother, to allow him a chance to heal in peace and so I could monitor his pooing, peeing and eating. We made it so they could still see and smell each other. This evening we were cleaning out there cage, so we put them in the playpen together, one of us keeping a close eye on them whilst the other was cleaning out the cage. To begin with they were getting on ok, just the usual showing of dominance. However, all of sudden, they were chattering their teeth at each other and then flew at each other. Fortunately I had a blanket to hand and managed to separate them before blood was drawn. I hate to think what would have happened if one of us hadn't been there...it would have been a blood bath.

I'm absolutely gutted that his has happened but I'm hoping to keep them next to each other if possible so they don't get lonely. Going to have to build a new cage with a permanent divider. Not 100% sure that they will even be happy next to each other and they keep chattering their teeth at each other through the divider just now :(

Really not sure what I'm going to do to be honest.

oh no, really sorry to hear this. The only thing i have ever done with fall outs is bath together as it sometimes rebonds, but not sure how this would work if nibbler still sore.

Yeah, I can't bath Nibbler for at least a month if not more as the wound needs to be kept dry and I'm thinking by that time, things will be too far gone :(

thats what happened with 2 of mine. One day they got into a fight and dexter ended up with his ear ripped off. I have 3 piggies in total and they all live alone due to serious fighting. They are actually alot happier themselfs than what they ever were with each other.
You could try the re-introducing on mutal ground or the bathing together but sadly it never worked for me. I dunno how many times ive tryed it and failed and one ended up cut so i had to call it quits for their safety. Thats not to say it wont work for you :)

Mine all live side by side, you get the odd arguement between them through the bars but for me personally i know they could never harm each other and in a way i think they know that aswell!

I dont think they will get lonely if they are side by side :) Once they get use to having their own space i reckon they will calm down. :) Mine are miserable away from each other but face to face its war! :)

Good luck x
