Just look at this WANTED Ad on Freecycle http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/PetsSecondChance/message/2269

I have emailed the person stating a hamster cage is NOT suitable for a piggy, saying what size cage is suitable or that the piggy could be bonded as they are sociable. Their reply has more or less told me to mind my own business, the piggy is "dominant" which is why it's on it's own and the hamster cage is only a temporary measure & how they have had animals for many years. I should also not give out advice to people when i don't know the full story!
Well have almost combusted sitting here & have replied stating yet again temp or not a hamster cage is suitable for a hamster NOT a piggy, however small the piggy may be & have also emailed the site owner regarding this.

If anyone else wishes to "put this person right" please feel free :)

HUGS for you darling xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This is the third post about guinea pigs being kept in hamster cages in the last month. WHY do people think it is acceptable and why do people sell/give away guinea pigs without even checking where they are going to live :)>>>

Cna't get there, but you have my moral support!

I know what you mean. Even a nero 2 is a stretch, I had george in one when I first got him but wouldn't do that again now I know better.

RESULT!

This is the email i got from one of the mods after the site owner had investigated it, he himself has piggies & wasn't too happy that the ad had been allowed thru

Hi Nikki,
just to let you know I have had words with the member and I have removed the ad....thanks for bringing it to our attention.

many thanks

Good on you! RESULT :) Still left with the worry of the poor piggy though :( It's a wonder any of us ever sleep at night worrying about all the poor piggies we can't get too :( It's hard enough worrying about the ones that we all help to get over horrendous lives that we can get to :(
