Heyoo,

I thought I'd start a thread with ideas/suggestions of toys for your little piggies around your home. I've made three toys below, all of which keep my little one's amused for hours, just thought I'd share with you all if your piggies are a little bored and you wanted to try something different to keep them occupied! :)) Harvey was my judge and tested out all the toys, so I shall begin!

The Hay Roll - Fun, quick to make and can be changed for different fruits/ veggies everyday.
First of all cut a slit down a loo roll (you can add holes if you want to):

Then add a layer of hay, and a sprinkle of your piggies favourite fruit or veggies or any other treat!

Then add another layer of hay on top hiding all the tasty veggies in the middle,

"Mmm tasty, i do like pulling the hay out and rummaging about for my veggies"

Veggie Garden: - Fun and engaging for those little adventurous piggies!
Use an egg box and cut off the lid so you just have the base, fill the holes with tasty treats such as veggies, fruit, fresh grass or even guinea pig nuggets!

Next add a layer of hay, or fresh grass. You can hide the treats inside the hay too; I spiced it up about with varying the amount of hay in each hole:

"Nom nom nom"

The Hidey Box - Easy to make, keeps piggies entertained for hours!

Cut in half a cereal box, or you can use an old cardboard box for bigger piggies! Add a layer of cut up newspaper to the bottom, or whatever bedding materiel you wish to use, and let your piggies imagination go wild:

Climbing:

Or as a restaurant! (Harvey quite liked the idea of pulling his hay roll into the box x)

Harveys Verdict:

"Wheek wheek wheek!"

:)) Please feel free add any of your own creative toys for piggies, I'd love to see them and try them out!

Ohhh excellant ideas! :)

Haven't got a picture but a fave with my two piggies.
I put this in their indoor run, and it's basically like a little maze type thing.

I put various different sized small boxes in the run, a guinea pigs width apart at least so the piggie can sqeeze through the space and then put a piece of flat cardboard on top so that the piggies can run around the boxes without being seen- they like to be hidden.
(Or you could use a flecce but your piggie may want to jump on top of the flat cardboard so it would need to be fairly sturdy)

My piggies really like it when i do this because it's like loads of little tunnels that lead all over the place and they go around looking for each other :))

Haven't got a picure but here's a little diagram lol

Ooo thats such a good idea with a maze, i'll start collecting card board boxes ! :D I'm sure my boys will love it, Harvey espically likes climbing, whereas Arthur is much more into hidey holes :D thanks again :D

hehe no probs- it's nice to share each others ideas :)

I love your idea about the egg box- i can imagine my girls will love that! The stuffed roll is already a firm favourite- they chuckit all over the place :(|)

It is a lovely idea, I'm always wanting to make my boys lives that little more intresting! And I think ive already bought out the guinea pig range at P@H :D apart from the pigloo's which i'd love them to have.

Arthur enjoys rolling the hay roll away from his brother using his head - its so funny watching them as Harvey sits their squeeking away as if to say 'Oi! Keep that still i am trying to eat here' so so funny!

I cant wait to try out the maze idea, I'm currently hording any boxes i can get my hand on! :D

Brilliant ideas, thanks. And lovely pictures - Harvey makes the perfect model!
A slight variation on the hidey hole is a paper bag - sometimes with hay inside, other times just as a hidey hole. My boys can't get enough of paper bags - they nibble them, sleep in them, argue over who's turn it is inside and, of course, ruin them with wee and poops!
I like the egg box idea especially :)

Ooo paper bags, I have a fair few of them left over from the greengrocers I shall try them out tomorrow which I'm sure my boys will love thankies :D
