Fun with food!

As my boys had over an hour of grass time earlier munching away, tea time is slightly smaller than usual, so I thought I'd make it a bit more interesting for them to eat! Rather than just sticking it in their cage, I threaded it through some string and tied it to their run! It's good for them to do some work for their food every now and then, natural instincts and all that, but also it's a bitta fun! And mega cute to watch :-)

The leaves and the cucumber pull right off, it's only really the corn they can't manage to pull off in one go! Lol

Aw great! I used a tooth pick to push the string trough the veggies :-)

That was great fun. I used a chicken trussing needle. I knew it would come in handy for something.

Great idea. Does it matter what kind of string you use? I think this can be great mental stimulation for my herd.

In all honesty I'm not sure if it matters I just used bog standered white string! I wouldn't use anything with dyes on and keep away from wool but otherwise I can't see a problem, my boys don't chew the string anyway :-)
