Hiya
I recently bought the big bottle of Ivomec and dropper bottle administer orally in the mouth because my girls were scratching.

It arrived yesterday. This morning I noticed that Flopsy has a bald patch about 10p in size and behind that in the hair 2 small scabs. I am assuming that they DO have mites. She's recently been unwell and introduced to Orson so it wouldn't surprise me as she has been stressed.

Anyway I have given the dose this morning via the mouth and I want to cut her hair back and give her a coconeem melt and shampoo. Can I do it today?

Gorgeous guineas talks about waiting 2 days but they also talk about using Xeno 450 topically behind the ears. Mine had it in the mouth so it's not like it can wash off.

Common sense is telling me it would be okay but I want to check as I don't want to make Flopsy any worse.

She's scratching terribly and I want to give her some relief.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Do you know why you need to wait that long if it's an oral dose?

Sorry but I need to know!

Yes interraction, also possibly not overdose of similar insecticidal stuff? Maybe the route doesn't matter, it's still in the body. x

Wait 2 days, then, if the pig should die unexpectedly, you will not be saying "If only".

Re the Ivomec

Don't forget that the type for oral & injection is different to the type used for direct skin application, like spot-on.

Just a reminder incase you are tempted to us it as a spot-on

Mind you, you probably already knew that so I will shut up. mallethead
