As mentioned in previous threads, I'm having a bit of a fungal nightmare with my girls. It started in one pig (or at least I only noticed hers first) and then it spread to three more, which must of been my fault I know but I can't work out how. Girl number five has it now too, but on her feet, oddly. We hadn't noticed it before and Dad suggested that perhaps because her hair is so long and thick, it wasn't getting through to her skin, so go figure its on her feet.
But anyone, all girls were responding nicely to the treatment and three have almost entirely gone. However, Elphie seems to have suddenly got worse. When applying the cream I noticed she had a little patch of it on her back, and I also sprayed her ears as a precaution. Today, she does have it on her ears (precaution failed, clearly), her back, and still on her nose. She's obviously been scratching because there was a fair amount of dry blood on her ear. I was just about finished and picked her up and felt a rough patch - she has a large, bald crusty patch on her tummy! Unless I missed it twice yesterday, which seems unlikely, that patch has appeared over night.
I can't understand why she's getting worse and not better. Is the fungus resisting the treatment? Does she maybe need something stronger, taken orally? 8... She's otherwise happy.
