I posted earlier about my 4 week old piggy clover who is being treated for mites but I think has a fungal
infection. the scabbing is getting worse and there is a White flakey bloom on her ear. after looking at pictures I am almost certain it is fungal. I am going to make a vets appointment tomorrow but wanted to know what I should expect the vet to do and what is usually pescribed for fungal? I have read threads about vets mistreating the condition and want to be prepared! I have also emailed gorgeous guineas to see what creams they advise to help soothe the sores x

Mine used to get fungal quite a lot, and I would definitely take Chrissie's advice and products over a vet's any day. I prevent using monthly baths (Manuka and Neem) and treat using one of her melts and following it up by shampoo - treat for one or two weeks at 7 day intervals and hey presto, happy guinea..If worried always visit a vet, but if you are sure it's fungal GG are definitely worth a visit to their site (www.gorgeousguineas.co.uk).

thank * x will so vets and gg I think - attack it from both angles! clover is such a tiny little tearaway, I hate seeing her so itchy! will wait to see what chrissie at gg comes back with and visit vets on my day off Friday x
