I think Sprout might have fungal. I took him out for a cuddle just now and I felt on his belly a small bit of rough skin. I had a look at it and underneath the hair I saw what looked to me to be fungal or wart like skin.

I think he also has a little on his nose.

Jaycee star did say that she had babies with cases of this at the farm so to keep an eye out but when I went to pick him up and looked him over I didn't notice anything fungal like so it must have popped up after he got home.

What should I do? Can I treat it with a fungal shampoo? Thanks

He will need to be seen by a vet as it could be ringworm or anything. Sorry to hear your baby is unwell.

His hair isn't falling out and his skin doesn't look sore, he does seem to be itching a bit, he doesn't have any dandruff or anything. I will take him to the vet as soon as I can though, don't want it being passed on

I'm sorry to hear this :(

When I adopted Ena, I was warned she may develop fungal as her mum had it whilst she was pregnant. Sure enough, a crusty scab appeared a few days after she arrived.

I took her to the vets to be in the safe side and it was confirmed she had caught fungal from her mum. As Ena was so young at the time, my vet recommended Dakartin Gold (an athletes foot cream for humans). I applied this twice a day to the scab and the scab was gone within a week, I carried on using the cream for a further two weeks and she completely healed. I bathed my other three pigs in fungal shampoo and luckily, nothing was passed in.

Before using anything, I suggest a vet visit for a proper diagnosis. In the meantime, make sure you wash your hands before and after handling Sprout just incase it is ringworm as this can be transferred to humans and other animals.
