My piggies have just finished their 3rd dose of ivermectin for suspected mites almost a week ago, as my vet didn't think it was fungal. I read this can suppress a fungal infection. The itching has stopped and hair is growing back. How long will it take for the fungal to come back if that is what it is? I was thinking fungal because the spots were on his nose and ears. The vet just dismissed it and started with treatment for mites. Thank you

Was it ivermectin drops? Where was the bald patches that the hair is growing back on? Mites normally presents on the back.

It was oral ivomec. The spots were on the top of his ear and right between his eyes. That is why I thought fungal. The vet wanted to treat for mites first. It's completely gone now and hair is growing back, but maybe it was just suppressed? Everything I have read says fungal is on the face.

The hair is growing back is great news. Keep an eye on it, if it returns then I'd be tempted to treat for fungal speaking to the vet

have a read of this page on fungal on Guinea Lynx Guinea Lynx :: Fungus

Hair growing back is great news though, keep a close eye
