Hi guys. I posted earlier thinking my piggies might have been fighting but after doing some research it looks like the sores are from a fungal infection. Can you treat this yourself with anti fungal treatment or is a visit to the vet a better option. Thanks.
 
You need a vet for a proper diagnosis otherwise you are treating on spec. Mange mites and fungal can look very similar in the early stages but have completely different treatment. Please bear in mind that if the vet wants to do a culture to test for fungal only Ringworm tends to show any results whereas, there are many types of fungal. My preferred treatment is with Imaverol (Enilconazole) which is used as a dip and not rinsed off. Ir Ringworm is diagnosed then you will need oral medication - Itrafungol.
