I have a run pegged out most of the time but discovered something today which I feel is worth sharing with everyone .
It wasn't until I had I let my guinea pigs out in their run on our lawn that I noticed something on the grass which, to the eye, looked like a squashed chestnut. I removed it straight away and could tell by the smell that it was some sort of fungus.
I'm sure my guinea pigs didn't touch this but it just reinforces the importance of doing a thorough check before letting them out.
