Yesterday I had some floor time with my 3 pigs, Cecil (neutered boar), Poppy and Pippin. Cecil is a big old boy but this doesn't stop him chasing the girls, who when they have had enough, make it clear! Yesterday he was pursuing Poppy who squirted a bit of wee in his face! I've never seen this before - is it common? It was certainly effective and he left her alone after that!

LOL yes it's common behaviour when girls don't want any attention in that area - it literally means P*** off! It works a treat as the boys stop to wash their faces but it also lets the boys know that they are not receptive from the hormone levels in the wee (ie not in season).

That's so funny - very effective! I guess I've mostly had just girls or just boys, so wouldn't have seen that behaviour before. Thanks for letting me know! I wondered for a minute whether I had an ASBO pig!

Haha, that's hilarious :') i've never had girls before but they sound like they could definitely put my boys in line !

We used to have a dwarf lop rabbit called Thumper. One day he was by the patio door (he would come in the house if he saw it open) and i was stroking him and he turned round and peed all over my face, neck and arm then ran off !

I agree with Suzy's comments.

PS: Boars spray sows about to come in season with their testosterone laden pee to mark them as their own, so piggy group life can at times be quite a smelly pee fest! The equivalent of a wedding ring is a yellow piggy nose...

Miss Mabel peed in Doodle-Pig's face when she had the affrontery to rumblestrutt back at her! Pecking order was quickly re-established!rolleyes
