My eldest sow, while her pups were about 3-4 weeks old and still be hounded by them, would go up to use one of the water bottles, and while drinking, a pup would try and muscle in on the bottle. I'd hear a loud shriek, look over, and mom was still drinking away. After some time, I finally saw what she was doing. While drinking, she'd "push away" the incoming pup with her front paw w/o missing a beat. This would cause the pup to freak out. At least one of her pups seemed to have learned to use a front paw in a similar manner, pushing away my finger sometimes while petting her chin.

In my boar cage, they have a cardboard house and a separate hammock, spaced apart a bit. So one or the other is either in the house, and other is in the hammock, etc.. The younger/newer boar figured out he could bite on the lip of a food bowl, and drag it. Guessing the older boar might have claimed the bowl, and younger one is trying to pull it to a more advantageous location. Anyhow, on several occasions, I started seeing the bowl pulled right up to the entrance of the house (has a front/rear entrance) and left there. Around the same time, I noticed the entrance had been nibbled to death around the same area the bowl was hitting it :) (bowl is very shallow at roughly one inch tall). Thought that was really funny to see.

When I give medicine to Farley pig he does the same thing and uses his paw to push my hand or the syringe away. It’s really cute.
