Lightning had a lump removed in October and I thought her fur would be growing back by now. Anyone had this happen? She's always looked a bit shaggy compared to her very pretty sister, now there's no way she can compete lol ..

I hope that her fur will grow back; it is rather unusual that it hasn't so far!

My Jess had her eye removed on the 17th October and by the beginning of December her hair had pretty much all grown back (I know a different area so may take longer). Definitely a bit strange though!

17th of Oct (whole side of her face shaved) and the 5th December!

Oh my goodness poor Jess! What happened? Hope she's coping ok. Yes her fur has grown back really well. Thanks for sharing.
I wonder if it's because Lightning is indoors, maybe a bit warm.

Thanks, she’s coping amazingly, 7 next month and you’d think she’d been like it forever! She had a ruptured eyeball from something stabbing it, most likely her cagemate Luigi’s nail doing his popcorns as nothing sharp in the cage other than hay, and it was a deep poke!
Jess has always been an indoor piggy too so not sure if it’s that!

Thanks so much, she’s a special girly bless her. Deaf and one nipple too! My wonky baby!

Yes not sure it’s the warmth from indoors, could her or her sister be grooming it a lot maybe?

She really is, got a toyboy aged 1 (that weighs over 400g more than her) that is a popcorning nutter but she’s still the boss! :))
Sure your girls are well looked after and will get to her age! :)
You never know, there could be a bit more bum grooming going on behind closed doors!
Her back looks healthy without sores etc so cant think of anything else that would stop the hair growing!

Six months with him now (after six years with her older man!) and he definitely keeps her active! Even if it’s just telling him off :))

How old is Lightning? I had an elderly sow spayed a few years ago and her flanks were shaved. The hair never fully re-grew over the shaved areas.

Ah that's interesting. Lightning is 3.5 years so a bit younger than your sow. Since having them it's always Lightning who gets things wrong with her, several lumps, eye poke, she wouldn't stop bleeding once when the vet cut her nails. Compared to her sister she seems less young and vibrant!

Aah bless her, sounds like Jess with all her issues over the years! Hopefully it’s just going to take a while to grow or could be similar to VickiA’s piggy :)
